A conference organised by UKCP (in association with Changing Lives), who say:
“Addiction continues to be a serious problem in the UK. While the number of people with an addiction rises, budgets are being squeezed, services suffer cuts and it’s the people who need the help who suffer.
This conference aims to bring together a range of people involved in different parts of the recovery process to look beyond the focus on the substances. Instead we will focus on the importance of relationship in healing and on breaking the impasse in treatment services.
We hope to create a space for debate, discussion and learning. We will look at how commissioning structures can be changed and how psychotherapeutic support can be made integral to the whole process …”
