Damian Scarf experienced the debilitating effects of anxiety first hand when, shortly after entering university, he was pushed to cut off his social groups to achieve higher grades. Now it’s the topic of his research, and Damian shows us first hand how anxiety is an expert strategist.
His talk is also about “social cures” in relation to belonging to one or more social groups and the individual’s sense of the degree to which they are accepted by the group and identify with the group … which feeds into the degree to which that individual is resilient.
